Job Description
You will be part of a support team responsible for:
· Configuring and troubleshooting hardware and software issues on different types of devices (like servers, workstations, and set top boxes)
· Providing break/fix support to hundreds of users doing software development and quality assurance
· Hardware and software installation, including flashing/imaging workstations and set top boxes
This position requires experience with:
· Assembling & disassembling PCs/workstations, servers, and other miscellaneous computer hardware. You should be very comfortable with the basic components and peripheral ports, along the lines of what’s covered by A+ certification
· Researching solutions to problems that you may be unfamiliar with
· Communicating with both end users and other team members to provide the best support possible
· Networking concepts (gateways, routes, subnets, VLANs, VPNs, firewalls, etc.) and ability to implement them, particularly on Cisco routers and switches
· Cabling, particularly ethernet and coax/RF
· Basic working knowledge of Linux (ideally via command line) and Windows administration
Bonus points for:
· Familiarity with commercial A/V equipment (video encoders, RCA/HDMI connections)
· RF/satellite TV experience (multiswitches, MoCA, etc.)
· Windows systems administration
We are NOT a call center. This position requires you to be on-site in El Segundo during normal business hours (Mon-Fri 8-5). There are COVID restrictions in place on-site, including reduced capacity, and masks are currently required.
