    LJL has a contingent job opening for a DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR to join our team in San Diego. This position will support Agile software development in a DevOps environment for Department of Defense programs.  Efforts include: ingestion of large data sources in near real-time, high performance data storage, data analytics and visualizations enhancements, and system integration, test, and evaluation. Initiatives will focus on the enhancing users’ ability to discover, characterize, and synthesize information for improved awareness, understanding and response.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Analyzes and recommends system engineering improvements for enhanced software concepts
    • Provides guidance in big data engineering and analytics
    • Provides expertise of complex data modeling and aggregation algorithms
    • Provides guidance in enterprise standards and protocols
    • Provide engineering and scientific support to identify, analyze, and define requirements
    • Supports integration, test, and installation activities

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • At least 3 years of Database Administration/Development experience
    • Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited college or university (An additional 4 years of specialized expertise may be considered as substitute for a Bachelor's degree). Degree preferably in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Management, IT Systems Technologies or related field.
    • Scripting language experience (Python, PowerShell, Ruby)
    • Continuous Development/Integration software (Jenkins, GIT CI, Docker, Mavin) experience
    • GIT experience
    • Experience evaluating services and products provided by COTS/GOTS vendors and provide recommendations
    • Understanding of data structures and design of highly available systems
    • Design enterprise architecture experience
    • Experience optimizing table structures and queries for PostgreSQL
    • Java or Python, Linux, SQL and SPL (Splunk Search) languages
    • Cybersecurity Workforce (CSWF) IAT Level II
    • Minimum security clearance level of TOP SECRET/ SCI
