    La Jolla Vein & Vascular brings together board-certified experts in Vascular Surgery and Interventional Radiology to provide the most advanced treatments for vascular disorders of the legs, feet and pelvis. Our comprehensive vascular center is looking for a Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT) to join our team. Our clinic, with locations in La Jolla on the Scripps Memorial Campus (XIMED building) and in Vista, is dedicated to improving the quality of lives with patients who suffer with vascular conditions, including chronic venous insufficiency, DVT, chronic leg edema, leg ulcers, and peripheral arterial disease.

    Many have a lymphatic component. Our goal is to add lymphedema services to ensure timely and adequate access to lymphedema therapy for our patients and to provide comprehensive vascular and lymphatic care for healthy legs. This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to lay a foundation and help grow the lymphedema service lines for patients.

    This position will start as Part-time, but has the potential to grow into a full-time position. Position will start with 2 days per week alternating between our La Jolla and Vista locations.

    Summary of Duties:

    · Evaluates patients and interprets evaluation findings to determine the nature and extent of dysfunction.

    Establishes treatment goals and plans treatment to achieve established goals.

    Conduct physical therapy evaluations, program planning, and treatments patients

    Work independently with limited supervision.

    Interprets physicians' referrals for physical therapy services and selects the appropriate diagnostic or prognostic procedures for evaluating patients' needs.

    Perform evaluation procedures and analyzes the results to determine the extent of patients' disabilities, establish patient goals, assess functional progress, and to develop and adjust initial and subsequent treatment programs.

    Conduct tests of strength, upright motor control, spasticity, sensation, proprioception, visual field, bulbar functions, cognition, gait analysis, body image, electro-diagnostic, and other tests.

    Confer with physicians regarding evaluation, treatment and progress of patients

    Maintain documentation of treatments

    Educate patients and family on treatment plans and procedures.

    Educational Requirements:

    · Bachelors, Masters or DPT degree in Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapy from accredited program recognized by State of California DCA required.

    Licensure/Certification Requirements:

    · Current California Physical Therapy license required. · Current certification from approved school in Lymphedema. · BLS required.

    Experience Requirements: 2 years of Lymphedema Therapy in an outpatient setting.

    Special Skills/Abilities:

    · Knowledge of principles and practices of Physical Therapy to work independently. Ability to develop and maintain effective leadership and working relationships. · Ability to analyze situations and take appropriate action. · Ability to express oneself clearly in speaking and writing.

    Preferred Qualifications

    · Certified Lymphedema Therapist. · Master’s Degree or Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy. · Five (5) years of experience in outpatient therapy.

    Special Requirements

    · Must possess the physical strength to assist with patient mobility and apply compression stockings/wrappings. · This position may be subject to a criminal background investigation, drug screen, Live Scan fingerprinting, medical evaluation clearance, and functional capacity assessment. · Our facility Vaccination Program Policy requires current COVID vaccination status.
