    La Jolla Vein & Vascular brings together board-certified experts in Vascular Surgery and Interventional Radiology to provide the most advanced treatments for vascular disorders of the legs, feet and pelvis. We are a growing outpatient vascular center looking for a Surgical Tech/IR Tech for our OBL office.

    This is a Per Diem Position currently 1 day a week on Wednesdays at our La Mesa location. This position will be moving to our Vista location in May, 2023. Ability to travel to these locations is required.

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be all inclusive

    Assist in Interventional Radiology procedures as part of a team under the supervision of physicians, registered nurses, or other surgical personnel.

    Help prepare the operating room by setting up surgical instruments and equipment, sterile drapes, and sterile solutions.

    Assist in transportation of patients including preparing the stretcher, identifying the patient with arm band, and transportation patient to the OR.

    Prepares patients for procedures by disinfecting incision sites.

    Assist in transferring patients to post-op to recover after procedures.

    Pass instruments and other sterile supplies to physician(s) during procedures.

    Helps prepare, care for, and dispose of specimens taken for laboratory analysis and helps apply dressings.

    Assist in restocking rooms according to established standards.

    Inventory management and ordering supplies.

    Assist in the preparation and aftercare of equipment and supplies.

    Clean soiled instruments, check for defective items, assemble clean instruments and store in designed areas.

    Sterilize instruments using autoclave.

    Maintain logs and documentation relating to proper sterilization procedures.

    Assist in cleanup/turnover of rooms between procedures

    Assist in raising standards and work performance.

    Qualifications:

    Certification of completion from an accredited ST program (or RT program)

    Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

    Basic computer skills and proficiency in MS Word required

    1 year of OR, IR, or Cath Lab vascular experience preferred

    Demonstrated ability to maintain absolute confidentiality concerning patient information

    Physical requirements:

    Physical requirements can vary. In general, the position requires the following physical activities:

    Ability to lift a minimum of 5 pounds to a maximum of 35 pounds unassisted; able to stand for extended periods of time and to perform repetitive stooping, walking, stretching, reaching, with some sitting; full range of body motions required to lift patients, wear a lead apron, and lift supplies

    Manual dexterity and ability to work rapidly required

    Ability to perform patient transfers and positioning of patients up to 200 pounds unassisted; seek assistance for any patient over 200 pounds

    Ability to lift and move patient transport devices

    Ability to push/pull up to 50 pounds
