The Assistant Head Housekeeper ensures our guest accommodation, and all areas front and back of house are clean at all times. They assume a very "hands on" management of the day to day operation of the Housekeeping and Laundry and will assist with training and supervision of Housekeeping staff and assume responsibility for the head housekeeper in his absence. The candidate should be able to understand Spanish.

Responsibilities include:

Schedule shifts and arrange for replacements in cases of absence.

Oversee staff and all housekeeping operations on a daily basis.

Inspect cleaned rooms on a regular basis for compliancy with standards.

Operate washers and dryers according to hotel standards and manufacturers’ guidelines.

Monitor laundry supplies and equipment to ensure they are sufficient and in working order.

Fold and store clean linens, report damages to supervisor.

Inspect common areas for cleanliness including stairways, hallways and restrooms.

Assist in the servicing of rooms.

Motivate team members and resolve any issues that may occur.

Coordinate operations with the Front Office and Maintenance departments.

Monitor and replenish cleaning products.

Participate in cleaning projects as required.

Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation policies.

Stamina to handle the physical demands of the job including lifting and using stairs.

Performing inventory audits.
