What this job entails:
- Serve as a member of the Cybersecurity Incident Response Team, making recommendations, and taking action on improvements.
- Seeing the big picture and providing a strategic viewpoint on the design and implementation of security solutions across the entire enterprise
- Reporting security gaps to leadership as applicable with appropriate recommendations
- Recommending security solutions that align with best practices and are practical for the environment
- Participating in the architecture, design, and implementation of security solutions
- Provide recommendations on the resolution/mitigation of identified vulnerabilities/issues
- Use manual testing techniques and methods to gain a better understanding of the environment and validate false negatives/positives
- Facilitating and supporting threat/architecture reviews
- Identify enhancements to information security tools, standards, and processes
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent work experience
- At least three years of applicable security experience
- Scripting Skills such as Python, BASH, or PowerShell for automation
- Proven technical skills in multiple information security domains
- Experience with one or more common programming languages, frameworks, and libraries is preferred (VB, Java, .Net, Ruby, C++, Python, Struts, Spring, Groovy, JSON, Node.js, etc.)
- Knowledge and understanding of modern cyber threat actors, their motivation, scenarios, tools, tactics, and procedures
- Experience with Pen Testing tools; specific experience with Kali Linux
- Experience with SIEM solutions (Splunk preferred)
- Be able and prepared to present complex, technical information to a variety of audiences, both technical and non-technical, in written and/or oral formats
- Understanding of risk management practices with an emphasis on risk assessment and interpretation and application of corporate information security policies
- Ability to evaluate risk, business impact, cost and difficulty to remediate in relation to communication of findings
