    Job Description:

    You will lead the preparation of manufacturing and assembly instructions; creation of work plans and develop work processes for alignment, testing and prototype development of our optical instruments. You will frequently interface with Sales, Optical and Software engineering preparing specifications, models and release documentation. You will also lead the certification of optical measurement prototypes and mechanical fixtures.

     

    Responsibilities:

    Supporting equipment installations, developing preventive maintenance processes and conducting equipment root cause evaluations at customer sites.

    Designing, developing, selecting and procuring mechanical assemblies and testing aids.

    Create, approve, revise and maintain design documentation.

    You will perform the role of CAD lead for the entire product portfolio and utilizing configuration management best practices.

    Identify product/service innovations and develop, quote, and implement solutions to meet customer technical requirements for the utilization of Test instrumentation.

    Travel to customer sites to support installations, conduct training, and assist with test process development.

    Build and maintain an expert level of product and application knowledge for the product lines.

    Support engineering center testing and measurement services and test process development.

     

    Qualifications:

    BS in Mechanical Engineering.

    Minimum 5 years industry experience.

    Experience designing mechanical fixtures and tooling to meet specifications and tight tolerances.

    Knowledge of dimensional metrology methods and data analysis principles.

    Proven prototype development and hands-on lab skills.

    Development and documentation of Manufacturing test and assembly procedures.

    Recent experience using CAD (Solidworks, ProE, CREO, Catia, etc.) in the design of assembly fixtures and tools.

    Proficient in product definition, documentation release and technical writing.

    Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.

    Some travel may be required to provide our customers the best possible solutions.

    US citizenship is required in compliance with ITAR regulations.
