Senior Managing Consultant (Information Governance)
Key Responsibilities
Apply advanced, strategic approaches to assist clients with complex information management challenges as well as combine data analysis techniques, sophisticated technology tools, and information management principles to help clients make well-informed decisions
Provide clients with guidance on electronic records management, discovery readiness, privacy and data security and develops strategies associated with implementation plans
Guide clients with documenting and enhancing processes; collaborating on the development of policies and procedures; identifying and selecting technology tools; developing and rolling out communications and training; and monitoring and auditing their compliance program
Provide support for program rollout, including the implementation of technology tools to support enhanced business processes with a technology focus on electronic records management systems, structured and unstructured data archiving, and e-discovery response tools
Assess corporate data management processes and design retention policies in the context of IT infrastructure, technical controls, and litigation needs of the organization
Advise on the creation of retention schedules and classification systems in an electronic environment
Build, maintain, and utilize networks of client relationships
Draft information management strategies and roadmaps
Enhances team competence by answering technical and procedural questions for less experienced team members; teaching improved processes; mentoring team members
Provide day-to day guidance to the team that exemplify our core values, keeping a positive energy and providing motivation that can be replicated throughout the organization
Provide leadership for smooth execution of IG related tasks on a daily basis
Participate in the hiring, mentoring, and performance management of the new and existing team members
Work with the Director of Client Services to provide written and verbal constructive feedback and coaching during Quarterly Conversations and annual performance reviews
Plan and facilitate regular cadence team meetings (weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, etc.)
Track emerging practices and contribute to building internal processes
Work within the boundaries of an overall practice methodology and blueprint
Assist with client engagement pursuit initiatives, including the development of client engagement proposals and scoping calls
Maintain appropriate documentation to include events such as chain of custody
Additional Responsibilities:
Attend bi-monthly, quarterly and annual company meetings
May be asked to perform other duties not listed in this job description as required by business needs
Professional Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field; Advanced Degree in Library and Information Sciences preferred
A minimum of 10 years of experience working in an advisory/consulting position with emphasis Records Management, Information Governance, and Privacy for a professional services or law firm
Certifications in the areas of Records Management, Information Governance, eDiscovery, Enterprise Content Management, Information Security, and Information Privacy are a plus
Successful track record of developing and implementing effective enterprise information risk management (IRM) programs and best practices for clients
Experience managing resource requirements, project timelines, workflows, and budgets.
Experience preparing presentations and complex written materials.
Knowledgeable about the IT, Records Management, IG, eDiscovery and Security-related technologies, software, applications, and systems that govern corporate programs.
Demonstrated ability to connect with senior executives to generate new business relationships and manage projects.
Demonstrated skill in collecting and analyzing complex data, evaluating information and systems, and drawing conclusions
Strong, diverse technical background is a plus and truly exceptional oral and written communications skills
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of internal affairs and client work
Ability to write scripts to automate investigative or security analysis tasks
The candidate must demonstrate proven success in working in a team as well as independently and exhibit follow-through to understand root causes of issue
A collaborative approach is a must, as well as the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of technical and non-technical personnel
Proven ability to mentor and train junior staff
Must be able to travel for client needs

Due to growth, we have an immediate need for a senior-level consultant with proven leadership and management capabilities to lead our IG practice. The Senior Managing Consultant works closely with the SME Director to provide advisory and consulting services in the area of IG to help clients identify and manage risk inherent in business processes and technology systems. This person develops and implements information governance, records management, eDiscovery, and security solutions best practices to solve complex business problems, meet strategic objectives, and ensure program compliance. This person will be responsible for managing, mentoring and coaching junior team members and will have a proven success in working in a team as well as independently. A strong attention to detail and the ability to exhibit follow-through to understand root causes of issues is important in this role.
