Responsible for solid modeling, drafting, and drawing of cryogenic and gas systems, products, and components.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Reinforce corporate commitment to safety and environmental awareness
Create solid models from sketches, specifications, component outlines, and other design input
Work with sales, manufacturing, product management, and quality to model new designs or modifications to existing products
Assist in maintaining and improving the drawing change documentation process (using PDM)
Specify or aid in the specification of fasteners and similar components for the design of new and existing products
Provide input on the manufacturability of existing and new products
Other tasks as assigned by General Manager
REQUIRED QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Experience with solid modeling software, including SolidWorks (is a plus), and AutoCAD and Inventor LT
Must be familiar with AutoCAD 2D – 3D
Must be familiar with AutoCAD “Blocks” and computer file architecture
At least 3 years of experience with design/drafting of piping systems and/or related mechanical products
Experience with the design/drafting of welded and brazed assemblies
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Experience with Product Data Management Software (PDM)
Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (desired)
Must have a good working knowledge of mechanical drafting (line weights, drawing layout, hidden views, the “three-view” drawing layout)
Must be familiar with piping, pipe fittings, flanges, pipe schedules
Must be familiar with tube, tube fittings, and structural materials
Should be familiar with material types and characteristics – especially carbon steel, stainless steel and aluminum
Electrical Schematic knowledge (desired)
