  • Responsibilities

    Fulltime opportunity for Designer / Drafter.  This person will be responsible for solid modeling, drafting, and drawing of cryogenic and gas systems, products, and components.

    Duties include.....

    • Reinforce corporate commitment to safety and environmental awareness

    • Create solid models from sketches, specifications, component outlines, and other design input

    • Work with sales, manufacturing, product management, and quality to model new designs or modifications to existing products

    • Assist in maintaining and improving the drawing change documentation process (using PDM)

    • Specify or aid in the specification of fasteners and similar components for the design of new and existing products

    • Provide input on the manufacturability of existing and new products

    • Other tasks as assigned by General Manager

     

    QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

    • At least 5 years of experience with solid modeling software, including AutoCAD and SolidWorks

    • At least 3 years of experience with design/drafting of piping systems and/or related mechanical products

    • Experience with the design/drafting of welded and brazed assemblies

    • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

    • Experience with Product Data Management Software (PDM)

    • Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (desired)

    • Must have a good working knowledge of mechanical drafting (line weights, drawing layout, hidden views, the “three-view” drawing layout)

    • Must be familiar with AutoCAD 2D – 3D and Solid Works is a plus – most of our work is in 2D.

    • Must be familiar with piping, pipe fittings, flanges, pipe schedules

    • Must be familiar with tube, tube fittings, & structural materials

    • Should be familiar with material types and characteristics – especially carbon steel, stainless steel and aluminum

    • Electrical Schematic knowledge (desired)

    • Must be familiar with AutoCAD “Blocks” & computer file architecture
