We're hiring senior scientists with backgrounds in automated synthetic chemistry for this team.

In this strategic role, you will leverage automation and software to perform closed-loop chemical synthesis, purification and testing to accelerate drug discovery. In addition, you will work cross-functionally with external customers and team members to continue the development of the automated chemistry platform. This entails experimental design and troubleshooting, method development, process optimization, and evaluating and implementing new synthetic routes and technologies. Other responsibilities of the role include project management, external customer communication and contributing to internal tool and infrastructure development.

Synthetic Chemistry

• Design, execute and optimize synthetic routes for deployment on automated infrastructure

• Perform multidimensional analysis of reaction and reagent data

• Work with our internal supply chain team on material sourcing

• Expand the reaction toolbox through the development of new synthetic methodologies

• Prepare material for analytical and assay evaluations

• Collaborate with functional groups in engineering, product, and scientific applications

• Contribute to Research and Development Effectiveness

• Build and maintain relationships with industrial and academic research groups
• Author scientific publications and patents

• You Have

  • Ph. D. in synthetic organic chemistry or a related area, postdoctoral research experience in an academic or industrial environment and at least five years of relevant industrial experience, or master’s degree plus ten years of relevant industrial experience

  • Demonstrated commitment to individual laboratory productivity in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience working as part of a diverse team

  • A passion for new automation technologies for chemistry and drug discovery

  You may have

  • Demonstrated experience leading, managing, and/or mentoring in a lab environment

  • Deep interest in learning and leveraging advanced synthetic and analytical techniques

  • Exceptional proficiency with oral and written communication

  • Experience working with automated chemical synthesis platforms such as ChemSpeed or Zinsser

  • Experience working on medicinal chemistry projects

  • Desire to work with automation and next generation solutions
