Legal Nurse Consultant (Nurse Paralegal)
We are actively interviewing nurse-paralegal candidates for our AmLaw100 client in Cleveland, Ohio.
This person will work with attorneys on cases involving product liability, class action, and contract-related lawsuits, including those involving FDA-regulated devices and medicines, consumer products, and environmental and toxic tort actions.
Being a "utility player" you will work with attorneys on all medical aspects of litigation matters from inception to end. You’ll be responsible for obtaining, analyzing and summarizing medical records and legal documents related to the medical aspects of the case and preparing and updating medical chronologies for attorney review.
Other responsibilities will include: assisting attorneys with expert witnesses and working with attorneys to identify trial exhibits related to medical findings.
Required Qualifications to be Successful in this Role
Nursing Skills : The ideal candidate will have a BSN or LPN and 3+ years of litigation experience in a law firm, including familiarity with case preparation from beginning to end and an understanding of a nurse and paralegal’s role in the litigation life cycle.
Self-Managing: Whether working independently or in a team environment, you always stay organized and meet deadlines.
Communication Pro: you understand the importance of strong verbal and written communication to a busy team’s success.
Standards of Qualification: You demonstrate close attention to detail and provide an accurate, neat, and thorough work product, all while maintaining the ability to handle multiple projects and shifting priorities.
Technical Skills: you know how to use relevant software programs (e.g., Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), with the ability to learn new software and operating systems.
