What you will be doing:
- Prepare and negotiate commercial leases for both landlords and tenants.
- Draft and negotiate commercial and residential purchase and sale agreements.
- Analyze and negotiate real estate loan and financing documents.
- Review and analyze surveys, title commitments, and environmental reports.
- Conduct due diligence in legal matters related to real estate and environmental issues.
- Prepare various real estate closing documents.
- Draft easements and handle Torrens proceedings.
- Analyze and negotiate construction and AIA contracts.
- Ability to work between core office hours of 8:00 am to 5:30 pm, Monday to Friday.
Experience you will need:
- Experience in lease drafting and negotiation with a solid foundation in real estate law.
- 3-5 years of commercial real estate experience - don't need people with more litigation experience than real estate.
- Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
- Licensed to practice in Minnesota with a bar membership in good standing.
- Ideally, previous experience with diverse commercial real estate transactions, including lease agreements, negotiations, disputes, easements, etc.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
- Strong analytical, decision-making, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle multiple projects effectively.
- Capability to develop and implement legal strategies.
- Comfortable interacting directly with attorneys and clients.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and productively.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
