  • Responsibilities

    Experienced electrical engineer to perform high-speed electronic design and lead one or two projects. Technical leader will manage design projects- no direct people management- coordinate activities, keep timelines on track for deadlines, interface with internal departments, etc. Qualified candidates will be knowledgeable of system level high-speed digital board design (16-20+ Gbps), are capable of performing hands-on activities and have strong project management skills.     Duties and responsibilities include:

    • Lead hardware development projects focusing on high speed serial data communication products
    • Perform board and system level high speed digital circuit design, integration and evaluation
    • Participate in system design and functionality
    • Perform and lead PCB layout and simulation. Knowledge of >20Gbps layout preferred
    • Manage hardware development schedules, development of system and board-level tests, unit and production tests, mechanical engineering interface, component selection, EMC and CE certification
    • Interface with software, operations, manufacturing, procurement, customer support, etc.

    Requirements include:

    • BS/MS in EE or CE (MS preferred)
    • 10+ years of system/board level design experience- high speed circuit design, embedded platforms, CPU, memory interfaces, layout, simulation
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience leading development projects/teams
    • Experience with a network product company developing high speed serial interfaces and circuits
    • Team player with outstanding interpersonal skills
    • Excellent knowledge of:
      • high speed (20Gbps or higher) design methodologies and simulation
      • Bus technologies such as PCIe, USB, Ethernet, SAS/SATA
      • high speed circuit design, implementation and measurements
      • high-speed simulation – Hspice, Hyperlinx or similar tools
      • system development
      • developing and implementing development processes
    • Good knowledge of manufacturing processes; EMC/EMI control; schematic entry tools; test and measurement equipment such as real time oscilloscopes, network and spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers; bebug; high-speed timing
