  • Responsibilities

    We are actively interviewing associates with three to six years of litigation experience to join our TopLaw client.

    We are looking for candidates who are excited about taking on more responsibility. Candidates must have demonstrated consumer class action experience. Experience with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, state mini-TCPA laws, and automatic renewal laws is a plus. Experience in other complex litigation areas, including consumer protection, unfair competition, and false and deceptive advertising, is preferred. Familiarity with investigations and proceedings initiated by the Federal Trade Commission, Federal Communications Commission, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and other federal and state regulatory agencies is a plus.

    Ideally, candidates will have hands-on litigation experience and will want to gain further responsibility and experience in the following areas: handling discovery and litigation discovery disputes, taking and defending depositions, conducting witness interviews, drafting and arguing pleadings and motions, and managing cases on a day-to-day basis. Excellent legal writing and research skills are required.

    This consumer protection team works collaboratively across offices and industry sectors and provides an integrated and cohesive approach that covers all of the law’s implications and ramifications, from ensuring compliance to fending off or defeating class actions to handling insurance coverage issues.

    Requirements

    • Three to six years of experience
    • Excellent written and verbal communication and advocacy skills
    • Strong legal research and analytical skills
    • Ability to be a self-starter who is eager and curious to learn new topic areas quickly and can work independently as well as be part of a collaborative team
    • Effective and efficient problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to work proactively to develop creative solutions to meet client and team needs
    • Enthusiasm for working in a team environment
    • Bar membership in good standing in the jurisdiction in which you plan to practice

    The base annual pay range for this role is between $240,000 - $330,000. The base pay to be offered will vary and depend on skills and qualifications, experience, and location and will also take into account internal equity. Additional medical, financial, and/or other benefits will be offered depending on the position.
