    Hypergrowth start-up that's posting remarkable revenue growth and has successful angel investor backing for a disruptive Direct to Consumer brand in the sporting goods industry. This person will shape the entire HR Organization and hold a leadership role that will shape the future of the company.

    As The Human Resource Manager/Director, you will report to and work closely with the Head of Operations to keep our growing company efficient and effective. You will use your expertise to build and direct the routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, enforcing company policies and practices. Additionally, the Human Resources Manager/Director will drive and maintain company culture, as well as develop and oversee employee learning, wellness and development programs.

    Supervisory Responsibilities

    • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff.
    • Builds and oversees the daily workflow of the department.
    • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.

    Priorities

    • Drives company culture through communicating the company’s leadership values, aligning activities and creating initiatives and systems to
    • Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization’s human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
    • Manages the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants, particularly for managerial, exempt, and professional roles; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
    • Provides support and guidance to management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
    • Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.
    • Creates learning, wellness and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
    • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
    • Functions as the company’s SME on human resources by maintaining knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
    • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
    • Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

       

    Qualifications

    • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP desirable.
    • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn and implement an HRIS and talent management systems, such as Rippling and Lattice
    • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the company’s employee and performance management systems.
    • A minimum of five years of human resource management experience preferred.
    • Bachelor’s degree in a related field desired, though not required.
