Lab Manager - Metals Processing - Base Salary to 100k/year - Bowling Green, KY

• Our client is an industry leading specialty metals processing facility working with high-grade super alloys.
  
• The team is seeking a Lab Manager who will help build and grow the lab from the ground up. The Lab Manager will have full oversight of lab operations ensuring accurate and consistent sample prep, testing, and shipping of alloys.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure metals meet chemical and physical requirements
  
• Develop and maintain QC protocols to meet customer and industry standards
  
• Maintain and manage lab equipment: XRF, ICP-MS, OES, analyzers, etc
  
• Monitor and report material specs, identify deviations, and implement corrective actions
  
• Hire, supervise, train, and mentor lab staff

Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in Metallurgy, Chemistry, Materials Science, or related science
  
• 5+ years managing laboratory operations in a metals processing environment; ideally high-temp alloys
  
• Robust background in analyzing and processing or super alloys
  
• Knowledge of chemistry specs for high-temp/super alloys
  
• Familiarity with various analytical tools such as XFR, ICP-MS, OES, etc
  
• Understanding of drift correction and creating industry standards
  
• Hands-on entrepreneurial mindset as this person will help build the lab from the ground up

Compensation:

• Our client is offering a base salary in the 80k - 100k/year range plus eligibility for annual profit-sharing bonus. They also offer 401k and standard benefits package. The team will also assist with relocation to get to the greater Bowling Green, KY area.
