    Founded in 2021, Kaigene develops innovative antibody-based medicines for autoimmune diseases. We are seeking a detail-oriented, proactive Lab Operations Coordinator to support purchasing, inventory, vendor coordination, equipment service scheduling, and related administrative activities in a collaborative, growing biotechnology company.

    Position Summary

    The Lab Operations Coordinator will manage laboratory purchasing, inventory, vendor services, equipment maintenance schedules, invoices, and operational records while working closely with scientists, equipment owners, and operations leadership to maintain an efficient, organized, safe, and compliant laboratory.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Procurement & Purchasing

    Process approved purchase requests and place orders with laboratory and office suppliers.

    Track orders, deliveries, invoices, and related purchasing records.

    Maintain procurement logs and organize supporting documentation.

    • Laboratory Operations Support

    Monitor and replenish commonly used laboratory consumables, reagents, and disposable supplies.

    Support the organization, labeling, receiving, and appropriate storage of laboratory materials.

    • Facility & Vendor Coordination

    Place orders and communicate with external service providers for biological waste disposal, laboratory and office cleaning, CO₂, liquid nitrogen (LN₂), and other recurring services.

    Coordinate service schedules and records with the designated laboratory equipment owners, including for preventive maintenance and required certifications.

    • Office Administration

    Maintain office, printing, breakroom, and shared-use supplies.

    Support invoice tracking, payment requests, and routine administrative coordination.

    Assist with general business operations and special projects as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Required

    Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

    Excellent attention to detail.

    Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.

    Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint.

    Strong written and verbal communication skills.

    Ability to communicate effectively in Korean, required to support day-to-day coordination with the company's Korean-speaking leadership, vendors, and business partners based in Korea.

    • Physical Requirements

    Ability to perform the essential functions of the position safely, including wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE) and lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.

    • Preferred

    Associate degree, Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent education is preferred.

    Experience in biotechnology, pharmaceutical, healthcare, or laboratory environments.

    Experience managing laboratory consumables and inventory.

    Experience with purchasing, vendor management, or office operations.

    Familiarity with scientific supply vendors.

    Compensation & Benefits

    $27-$30 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

    Earned Sick and Safe Leave in accordance with applicable Maryland law.

    Company-paid holidays, pro-rated based on schedule.

    Company-provided lunch on scheduled workdays.

    This part-time position is not eligible for Company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, or paid vacation/PTO benefits, except as required by applicable law.
