    Job Description

    ROLE SUMMARY / OVERVIEW 

    We are currently partnered with financial services firms on industry-leading architectural transformation. We need smart, progressive FUNCTIONAL ARCHITECT who are able to directly engage with senior stakeholders to drive modern best-of-breed architecture to support their business.  

    Our Functional Architects have great communication skills, a deep understanding of driving and communicating strategy, product roadmap. They can clearly describe complex business concepts to client stakeholders and are willing and able to both delve into detailed solution specifics and operate at the higher business-enterprise architecture level.  

    Our clients will rely on your expert judgement for modern and best-in-class application, data, and technology solutions so a strong track record of effectively collaborating with project teams and partnering with clients, especially in the Financial Services Industry, Solutions Consulting, or start-up environments, is paramount.

     

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Conduct research to develop a deep understanding of industry and technology trends. 
    • Engage stakeholders, including leading workshops, to understand requirements and constraints. 
    • Perform business strategy and capability modelling; Data modelling & requirements analysis; understand criticality of data elements, privacy, and strategic use of data; Identify gaps between the requirements and the current state. 
    • Undertake target state analysis and definition, including “Where” and “How” the client should implement cloud environments / implications for data compliance or external regulations etc.
    • Understand how applications, data stores, and systems support requirements and communicate their business value. 
    • Explore the use of cloud technologies to either augment existing business capabilities or provide new functionality. 
    • Align business & tech objectives with actual business outcomes; Describe the benefits (e.g., modernization, agility, scale); Describe cost optimizations that can be achieved. 
    • Develop an understanding of the investment and portfolio management at the client as it pertains to the cloud.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Proven experience as a functional architect with at least 7-10+ years’ experience.  
    • Deep and broad knowledge of cloud offerings, and the various advantages to each (certifications preferred). 
    • Hands-on experience working on migration of on-premises to cloud and best practices. 
    • Demonstrated ability to interpret and implement roadmap plans and enterprise-level architecture. 
    • Demonstrated ability to understand and represent business objectives and requirements and convert them into solution designs. 
    • Experience identifying complexity across domains/functions and formulating appropriate technical solutions toward achieving business objectives. 
    • Experience managing expectations when balancing alternatives against business and other constraints. 
    • Foundation of technical expertise in engineering, architecture, solution design.
