    Founded in 2002, LABCONNECT provides global central laboratory services including routine and esoteric laboratory testing, kit building, sample management, biorepository, and scientific support services for biopharmaceutical and CRO clients in support of their clinical trials.     SUMMARY

    The Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) System Analyst is responsible for the timely setup of all aspects of clinical testing to support new and existing clinical trial studies. They will participate in all discussions and decisions, internal and external, related to study initiation and support. They will aid co-workers with complex problem research, troubleshooting, and resolution related to clinical testing to provide best-in-class support to our internal and external clients. They will administer daily operational support, assist with the planning and implementation of software enhancements.  

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Maintain the integrity and security of all data within the xREACH LIMS.
    • Collaborating with clinical laboratories in the design, build, and validation of all testing components.  
    • Responsible for verification testing and validation documentation for clinical tests and panel builds.
    • Responsible for accuracy and following procedure in the clinical trial database set up to ensure consistency and quality of data.
    • Reviews and analyzes data flow between internal application and debugging to support clinical trial tests.
    • Assist in debugging Health Level 7 (HL7) and other interface messages as appropriate.
    • Collaborate with internal Integration Team to validate, monitor, and troubleshoot electronic interfaces and imports from Partner Laboratories.
    • Implements solutions and/or redefines workflows to maximize the functionality of systems.
    • Identifies and improves business processes and supports critical business strategies by assisting in the xREACH LIMS development, implementation, and maintenance of clinical trials tests.
    • Support billing functions in collaboration with the Project Manager and Finance Department.
    • Create/Update SOP’s and policies for laboratory computer and LIMS applications.
    • Keeping validation documentation up to date for the LIMS
    • Develop and maintain proper procedure manuals for the department.
    • Rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
    • Providing LIMS training to new and current employees as needed.
    • Participates in regular meetings with LIS personnel to exchange progress reports.
    • Maintain confidentiality of information in accordance with company policies and procedures.
    • Perform additional tasks as needed related to the IT and LIS mission.

     EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

    Four-year college or university program certificate, three to four years related laboratory information system experience, or experience in the clinical laboratory and/or clinical trial industry and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Preferred: Experience in FDA 21CFR11/GCP.

    REQUIRED SKILLS

    • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and database software.

    CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES:

    Certification as an ASCP Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Technician and Licensed Medical Laboratory Technologist/Technician (or equivalent) in the state of Tennessee is desired.

    LANGUAGE ABILITY:

    Ability to read, write and comprehend technically complex electronic data interchange specification agreements, client correspondence, meeting agendas, and meeting notes. This position requires that the incumbent communicate professionally with peers at client pharmaceutical and biotechnology firms, reflecting well upon LabConnect, LLC.

    MATHEMATICAL ABILITY:

    Ability to apply simple mathematical skills and abstract thinking in a logical and organized manner 

    REASONING ABILITY:

    Ability to solve practical problems, investigate client database issues using standard query tools and from the data generated draw correct and logical conclusions, use test scripts to validate newly-authored project-specific data transmission routines; the ability to understand a variety of technical instructions, mathematical and diagrammatic representations of data in both an abstract and concrete manner.

    COMPUTER SKILLS:

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including word processing software, spreadsheet software, database software, and knowledge in the use of standard query tools is preferred.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee is frequently required to talk or hear.  The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk and reach with hands and arms.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
