    JOB TITLE:  Customer Service/Sales Associate

                        HOURLY / NON-EXEMPT                                                                                                                                             

    JOB OBJECTIVE: 

    To provide an outstanding customer experience to all guests in every aspect and function of the business.

    To operate the cash register, provide accurate change, operate credit card equipment, and assist customers in every way possible.  Properly place any tags, security equipment, or other tags onto newly received merchandise to meet company standards for processing time and merchandise them in the proper department as well as maintaining the standards of rotation of merchandise. Associates are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the retail floor, floor organization, cleanliness of cash wrap, fitting rooms, backroom and restrooms. Associates will communicate supply levels, and any customer service-related issues with management as per Company standards.  This position will process sales timely, accurately, and efficiently. The associate will perform multiple tasks to assist the buyer(s) in every way, including accurate and efficient swapper check in process, execute the accuracy of acquiring all the customers information and accurate data entry into all systems. Associate will maintain company standards for buy process, purchases, coupons, promotions and returns. Associate will assist in quality control of merchandise received as well as continuous quality checks for preexisting items. Associate will enforce loss prevention standards to assist with safeguarding company assets.  Sales Associates must adhere to all cash handling procedures.  Sales Associates must behave in a professional, ethical, lawful, and honest manner at all times and represent the Labelswap Brand at all times when on duty or inside the facilities.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

     

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    1. Receive payments by cash, credit card, or other authorized forms of payment and return accurate change, receipts, credits or other items due customers.
    2. Count the drawer assigned to you at the beginning of each day to determine if the amount of money is correct.  Report any discrepancies to management prior to your first order.  Never use a register assigned to someone else.
    3. Always maintain the appropriate amount of cash levels in the register.
    4. Sales Associates must possess good “people skills” and maintain a positive, friendly attitude.  Call for back-up when more than two people are in line.
    5. Maintain an awareness of all promotions, specials, dotted tags, and Company advertisements.  Search carefully for marked price on an item prior to calling for pricing assistance. Have a clear understanding of the dot rotation and enforce company polices at time of purchase and or return.
    6. Promote any special events as requested by management, including obtaining of customer information, insertion of sale flyers into customer bags, and entering of customer contact information at point of sale
    7. The Sales Associate is responsible for all monetary transactions.
    • Do not sell any items that have an altered price or price tag or incorrect staples (wrong tag, wrong location, etc.).   Do not sell any item that has a tampered tag. Items are sold as is and no additional markdown is given for damages that occur to items while on sales floor or missed at buy. Store Policy dictates that items with modified or altered tags will not be sold.
    • Do not sell untagged items.  Call management for altered prices or untagged items.  Store Policy dictates that items without a price will not be sold.
    • Do not ring up items for family members.  Please ask your manager to assist family members.
    • Visually monitor all guests and suspicious activity.  Contact management immediately when in doubt. Guest with large purses, Bags, Duffels or backpacks are not permitted to walk around the store with such bags. Guests are not permitted to enter fitting rooms with bags other than normal handbag.
    • Answer store telephone line during regular business hours, holidays, or as instructed by management.  Responsibilities include offering store hours, current specials, and communicating directions, answering questions on Company policies, the buy process, and message taking.
    • Assist customers with fitting rooms.  Limit the number of items a customer can take into the fitting rooms by max of 6 items in fitting room at one time.  Ensure items are returned (not left inside the fitting room) and fitting room remains unlocked for the next customer. Must Check fitting rooms at least 2 times per hour for left clothing. Must clean and check each fitting room at night before locking store
    • Restock unwanted items from the fitting room to the appropriate department, this must be maintained at least twice per hour
    • Maintain floor control.  This includes picking up loose hangers, organizing items by color, by size, or by department as determined by management.  Ensure items of higher value are properly secured and placed in the appropriate display area.
    • Complete floor removals as requested by management.  Remove outdated inventory properly and as instructed.  Items removed for condition reasons much be always substantiated. Ensure quality control is priority at every aspect   
    • Rehang and replace all items that have been removed or misplaced.  Use the correct hanger for each category as determined by the Company.  Top buttons should be buttoned, and all zippers should be in the “zipped up” position. Maintain store standards for merchandising according to category, size and color.  Must keep store looking clean, neat and shoppable always
    • Place Company approved tag(s) onto items in a manner that does not damage the item.  Apply the security sensor in a manner that does not damage the item.
    • Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

    OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:

    1. Pick-up misplaced or loose hangers, clothing, shoes, trash, and/or any other items from sales floor or purchase area.
    2. Maintain clean, clutter-free work area.  Return or restock items that do not belong at or behind the register. Must maintain an organized check in, tagging and selling area at all times. Ensure that essential items are stocked for the day before opening
    3. Keep the showcase glass and front door glass always clean
    4. Keep wall always displays and mannequins full and rotated as instructed by management. Maintain the newest merchandise rotation on the 4way racks
    5. Know and understand fashion, trends, name brands and quality items. Maintain brand awareness at check in for new and existing buyers.
    6. Replenish and move empty and full hanger bins.
    7. Perform any other job assignments required by management.
    8. Maintain a clear understanding of the current store policies, including policies on guide dogs, purse and backpack placement, and on returns, altered, or non-accepted items.
    9. Understand and interact with appropriate and relevant social media venues regarding Company promotions.

     

    ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL SKILLS:  (These are the physical skills required to perform the essential job functions and their frequency during the work week.)

     

    1. Constant moderate to light lifting and carrying.
    2. Ability to properly operate all equipment necessary to perform job.
    3. Ability to understand printed materials.
    4. Constant use of fingers, wrists, both hands and arms, with constant reaching above the shoulders.
    5. Constant use of near vision, distant vision, and depth perception (must have average vision with or without the use of a visual aid).  Must be able to distinguish between basic colors and shades.
    6. Constant use of hearing (must have average hearing with or without the use of a hearing device).
    7. Constant pushing, pulling, walking, standing, gripping, bending, and holding the arms above waist level.
