Location: Washington, DC Schedule: 3x12-hour day shifts Contract Type: Contract Pay Rate: $80/hour
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Clinical Supervisor (RN) for a day shift leadership role in Washington, DC. The Clinical Supervisor will provide shift-to-shift oversight of clinical practice, staffing, patient flow, safety, and resource utilization on the L&D unit.
Candidates must have prior supervisory experience, strong L&D clinical expertise, and the ability to provide guidance and support to staff while ensuring high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities
Oversee clinical operations on shift, ensuring patient safety, quality of care, and optimal resource use.
Provide competent, compassionate, and efficient care appropriate to patient age and needs.
Role model organizational values and professional standards.
Lead and participate in departmental process improvement initiatives to enhance outcomes.
Facilitate employee engagement, including professional and shared governance participation.
Support staff development, mentorship, and adherence to policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Required Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
AWHONN Intermediate Electronic Fetal Monitoring
Licensure:
Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington, DC
Experience:
Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience
Supervisor/leadership experience required
Cerner EMR experience required
Education:
Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program – Required
BSN – Highly desired
