Direct Counsel is Seeking an Experienced Labor & Employment Attorney to Join a Premier Mid-Size Firm
Location: New Orleans or Baton Rouge
Direct Counsel is seeking an experienced Labor & Employment Attorney to join a well-established and highly integrated mid-size business law firm. The firm offers services in more than 40 practice areas and provides a robust national platform, offering outstanding cross-selling opportunities and autonomy. This is an excellent opportunity for attorneys with an existing book of business or those looking to leverage the firm’s platform to expand their practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide legal counsel and representation to businesses of all sizes on labor and employment matters, including employee relations, HR management, policy development, compliance, and litigation.
- Advise on a wide range of employment law areas, including Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Title VII, ADA, DOL, OWPA, OSHA, Wage and Hour, ERISA, FCRA, FMLA, OFCCP, WARN Act, cannabis-related employment issues, and more.
- Represent clients in federal and state court, as well as before administrative agencies.
- Collaborate with the firm’s L&E team on both transactional and litigation matters.
- Engage in cross-selling with other practice areas and contribute to business development efforts.
Qualifications:
- Significant experience in labor and employment law, with the ability to advise and litigate on complex workplace issues.
- Portable book of business (ideally $200,000+) preferred, but not required.
- Strong business development skills and a desire to grow and expand the client base.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
