    SPEC Building Materials Corporation is recognized as one of the nation’s leading wholesale distributors of the highest quality building materials, equipment, and products for both commercial and residential roofing contractors. Since 1973, SPEC has strategically grown to thirty-six convenient branch locations in markets throughout the Midwest, the South and Southeastern regions.

    Members of the Outside Sales Team are responsible for maintaining customer relationships, growing product sales, and developing new, productive accounts while they maintain a professional image for the SPEC Building Materials Corporation. Team members aggressively promote and sell the entire SPEC product line.

    Position Responsibilities:

    Prospecting for new accounts through cold calling, providing leads, and networking.

    Meet and exceed pre-determined sales goals.

    Maintain existing customer base with excellent customer service.

    Understand and advise customers on the products and services that SPEC Building Materials offers.

    Maintain good relationships with our valued vendors.

    Position Requirements:

    Maintain a successful track record selling building materials to contractors.

    Demonstrate and practice excellent customer service skills.

    Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    Possesses strong math skills.

    Possesses strong computer skills.

    The ability to manage one's time effectively with little supervision.

    Possesses strong presentation, negotiation, and closing skills.

    Maintain a current and valid state-issued driver’s license.

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $60,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year

  • Qualifications

    -High School diploma or equivalent, some college credits preferable, and 1+ years’ experience performing
    petroleum testing and/or equipment maintenance
    -Must possess basic computer and mathematics skills
    -Must demonstrate the ability to grasp new procedures quickly and implement them
    -Must communicate effectively with employees, outside consultants, and management
    -Must possess a thorough understanding of industry related safety and training

    Working Conditions
    Work is primarily performed in a laboratory with some time in office. The employee may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. AmSpec Services provides product information, training, engineering controls, and personal protective equipment in an effort to protect employees from exposure to potentially harmful levels of those materials. Employees are required to read product information, use available engineering controls, follow guidelines presented during training, and be able to wear and use appropriate protective equipment, including respiratory protective equipment, as may be required by the work environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

    Physical Requirements
    Safety Sensitive position that requires pre-employment, random and annual drug and alcohol testing (including marijuana testing). Ability to stand for long periods of time. Pass a drug and alcohol test specified by AmSpec, Pass an annual Pulmonary Fitness and Respirator Fit Test, Pass a physical examination by a physician designated by AmSpec Services, both before employment and at any time during employment upon request of AmSpec Services to confirm the employee’s ability to perform the essential job functions of the position. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/carry boxes weighing up to 45lbs. Ability to work in the presence of odors, typical of petroleum or petrochemicals, without allergic reactions or nausea when such odors are within OSHA-designated permissible exposure limits (PELs).
