    Tundra Testing is Alaska’s leading veteran-owned environmental and materials testing laboratory, located minutes from the Anchorage airport. We serve industries that power Alaska — from oil and gas to construction, real estate, and environmental development — providing precise, accredited analytical data that drives smarter decisions and protects Alaskan communities. We’re looking for a dynamic, hands-on Laboratory Manager who can combine operational excellence with strong people leadership. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of running efficient, compliant laboratories, motivating teams, and upholding quality standards aligned with ISO/IEC 17025:2017. You’ll lead daily operations, mentor skilled technicians, manage resources and workflows, and ensure every test that leaves our lab meets the highest standards of accuracy, safety, and reliability. Responsibilities: • Lead all aspects of day-to-day laboratory operations — scheduling, workload management, and process optimization. • Supervise, train, and inspire laboratory staff to maintain the highest levels of technical performance and professionalism. • Oversee sample custody, testing workflow, and data validation to ensure accuracy and turnaround goals are met. • Manage laboratory assets, including calibration, maintenance, and verification of analytical equipment. • Enforce compliance with the Quality Management System (QMS) and participate in audits, SOP updates, and CAPA processes. • Promote and monitor compliance with the Chemical Hygiene Plan , OSHA standards , and all applicable safety regulations. • Drive continuous improvement initiatives — track KPIs, evaluate performance trends, and implement best practices. • Communicate with clients and regulatory partners with professionalism and clarity, providing technical support when needed. • Collaborate with executive leadership to align personnel, budgeting, and resource allocation with the lab’s strategic growth. Qualifications: • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Biology, or related field (advanced degree preferred). • Experience: Minimum 5 years in laboratory management or supervisory leadership within an environmental, analytical, or materials testing lab. • Strong working knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025:2017 , QA/QC systems, and analytical method traceability. • Excellent leadership skills with a focus on mentorship, accountability, and high-performance culture. • Proficiency in laboratory safety management, including OSHA, NIOSH, and Alaska DEC standards. • Experience with LIMS platforms, data integrity, and audit documentation. • Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance technical detail and operational oversight. Compensation: $115,000 yearly
