    Job Title: Laboratory Processor Location: Norwood, MA Job Type:Part-Time, Evenings/ Weekends

    We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Laboratory Processor to join our clinical laboratory team. The Laboratory Processor plays a vital role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of patient specimens for diagnostic testing. This position is responsible for receiving, labeling, preparing, and tracking biological samples while maintaining strict adherence to safety and quality protocols.

    🔍 Key Responsibilities

    Receive, sort, and verify patient specimens (e.g., blood, urine, tissue) upon arrival

    Label and prepare specimens for testing, including centrifugation and aliquoting of samples

    Ensure proper storage conditions and integrity of samples

    Enter patient and test data into the Laboratory Information System (LIS)

    Track specimens and maintain accurate records of sample location and status

    Communicate with healthcare providers and internal staff regarding missing or delayed specimens

    Maintain and clean laboratory equipment according to SOPs

    Dispose of hazardous materials safely and in compliance with regulations

    Assist in training new staff and maintaining inventory of supplies

    Follow all safety, HIPAA, and infection control guidelines

    🧠 Qualifications

    High school diploma or equivalent required

    Prior experience in a science, clinical or medical laboratory preferred

    Familiarity with medical terminology and laboratory procedures

    Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

    Proficient in data entry and basic computer applications

    Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle biological materials safely

    Ability to stand for extended periods

    Manual dexterity for handling small instruments and samples

    Tolerance to potential allergens (e.g., fumes, chemicals)
