    Job Summary:

    The Laboratory Technician is responsible for the preparation, testing, and analysis of cannabis samples in compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. This role supports accurate and timely laboratory results by following established standard operating procedures (SOPs), maintaining detailed records, and ensuring data integrity. The Laboratory Technician plays a key role in upholding the quality and reliability of the laboratory’s operations.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Execute weighing responsibilities as defined in SOPs efficiently and accurately.
    • Perform routine and non-routine sample preparation, testing, and analysis using appropriate equipment, instrumentation, reagents, standards, and methods.
    • Accurately complete worksheets, logbooks, and other required documentation.
    • Transfer instrument results to the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) promptly and accurately while maintaining strict data integrity.
    • Maintain laboratory cleanliness and organization in compliance with SOPs.
    • Escalate safety observations, equipment malfunctions, or process improvement opportunities as appropriate.
    • Participate in audits, inspections, and quality control processes to ensure regulatory compliance.
    • Maintain clear and consistent communication with Laboratory Management.

    Qualifications:

    • Experience in sample handling or laboratory work desirable.
    • Able to work independently and as part of a team, detail-oriented, able to multitask.
    • Ability to follow established protocols and maintain accuracy.
    • Understanding of regulatory requirements in a laboratory setting.
    • Understanding of regulatory requirement specific to the cannabis industry desirable
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced and regulated environment.

    • Ability to drive safely and handle transportation responsibilities.
    • Proficient record-keeping abilities and data entry

    Requirements:

    • Education: Associate’s degree in scientific field, or 2 years of equivalent college experience.
    • Work Experience: At least 6 months of relevant laboratory testing experience.
    • Technical/Specialized knowledge: HPLC-UV, HS-GC-FID, ICP-MS, LC-MS/MS, and microbiology
    • Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to prioritize tasks in order of importance.
    • Familiarity with a GLP environment
    • Excellent problem-solving skills
    • Must be at least 21 years of age.
    • Valid Driver’s License
    • Proficient in Microsoft office and G-Suite
    • Preferred experience with ISO/IEC-17025 regulations.
