Position Overview
CLFC Healthcare & Communications is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist to perform clinical laboratory testing at a federal correctional institution in Oxford, Wisconsin. FCI Oxford is a medium-security federal correctional institution with an adjacent minimum-security satellite camp in rural central Wisconsin. You will conduct hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, serology, and microbiology testing, maintaining CLIA compliance and quality control standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform clinical laboratory testing in hematology, clinical chemistry, urinalysis, serology, and basic microbiology
- Collect, process, and analyze patient specimens following CLSI standards
- Operate and maintain laboratory analyzers, centrifuges, and point-of-care testing equipment
- Perform quality control testing, proficiency testing, and instrument calibrations
- Review and release results, flagging critical values for immediate provider notification
- Support infectious disease screening programs including TB, HIV, hepatitis, and STI testing
- Ensure CLIA, CAP, and BOP laboratory compliance
Required Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science
- ASCP certification (MLT or MLS)
- Current BLS certification
- Minimum 1 year of clinical laboratory experience
- U.S. citizenship required
- Ability to pass federal background investigation
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Clinical Laboratory Science preferred
- Point-of-care testing coordinator experience
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary: $55,000 - $72,000 annually
