Position Overview
CLFC Healthcare & Communications is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist to perform clinical laboratory testing at a federal prison camp in Alderson, West Virginia. FPC Alderson is a minimum-security federal prison camp for female inmates in rural southeastern West Virginia. You will conduct hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, serology, and microbiology testing, maintaining CLIA compliance and quality control.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform clinical laboratory testing across multiple disciplines
- Collect, process, and analyze patient specimens following CLSI standards
- Operate and maintain laboratory analyzers and point-of-care equipment
- Perform quality control, proficiency testing, and instrument calibrations
- Review and release results, flagging critical values for immediate notification
- Support infectious disease and women's health screening programs
- Ensure CLIA and BOP laboratory compliance
Required Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor degree in Medical Laboratory Technology
- ASCP certification (MLT or MLS)
- Current BLS certification
- U.S. citizenship required
- Ability to pass federal background investigation
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in CLS preferred
- Point-of-care testing experience
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary: $52,000 - $68,000 annually
