    LABORER - AIRPORT PAINTING PROJECT

    POSITION OVERVIEW

    We are seeking dedicated and safety-conscious laborers to join our team for a major airport painting project. This position involves the complete renovation of airport facilities through paint removal, surface preparation, and site maintenance. Workers will be part of a professional crew working in a secure airport environment with strict safety and security protocols.

    Paint Removal & Surface Preparation:

    Remove old, deteriorated paint using scraping tools, sanders, and chemical strippers

    Clean and prepare surfaces for new paint application using wire brushes, sandpaper, and power tools

    Fill cracks, holes, and surface imperfections with appropriate fillers

    Apply primer coats as directed by supervisors

    Site Maintenance & Safety:

    Maintain clean and organized work areas throughout each shift

    Properly dispose of paint chips, debris, and hazardous materials according to environmental regulations

    Set up and break down scaffolding, ladders, and protective barriers

    Cover and protect adjacent areas from paint and debris

    General Labor Duties:

    Load and unload materials and equipment from trucks

    Transport tools and supplies to work areas

    Assist painters and other skilled trades as needed

    Follow all supervisor instructions and work orders

    Complete other duties as assigned to support project completion

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    Experience & Skills:

    Previous experience in construction, painting, or general labor preferred

    Ability to use hand tools and basic power tools safely

    Physical capability to perform demanding manual labor

    Basic understanding of workplace safety practices

    Ability to follow detailed instructions and work independently

    Physical Requirements:

    Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly

    Comfortable working at heights on ladders and scaffolding

    Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and work in various positions for extended periods

    Capable of working in outdoor conditions and varying weather

    Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity

    Security & Documentation:

    Must pass airport security background check and obtain required clearances

    Valid government-issued photo identification required

    Eligible to work in the United States with proper documentation

    Clean driving record preferred

    SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

    Personal Protective Equipment:

    Hard hat, safety glasses, and steel-toed boots required daily

    Respirator use required when working with chemical strippers and in dusty conditions

    High-visibility safety vest required in all airport work areas

    Cut-resistant gloves when handling sharp tools

    Training & Certifications:

    Complete company safety orientation before starting work

    OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety certification preferred

    Lead-safe work practices training (provided if not current)

    Airport security awareness training (provided)

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    This position requires work in an active airport environment with unique challenges and requirements:

    Security Protocols: Strict adherence to airport security procedures and restricted area access rules

    Noise Levels: High noise environment requiring hearing protection

    Weather Exposure: Both indoor and outdoor work in various weather conditions

    Schedule: Full-time hours, Monday through Friday, with potential weekend work as project demands

    Team Environment: Collaborative work with painters, supervisors, and other trades
