Position Overview
We are seeking a dependable and experienced Construction Laborer to join our commercial construction team. The Laborer will support field supervisors, carpenters, and skilled trades with daily construction activities, material handling, site preparation, cleanup, and general labor.
The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of construction experience, a strong work ethic, knowledge of commercial jobsite practices, and the ability to work safely and efficiently in an active construction environment.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and maintain commercial construction sites for daily work
Assist carpenters, supervisors, and skilled trades with assigned tasks
Load, unload, move, stage, and organize materials, tools, and equipment
Assist with deliveries and material placement throughout the jobsite
Perform demolition, removal, and disposal of materials as directed
Assist with general construction and installation activities
Operate basic hand and power tools safely and properly
Help measure, prepare, and handle construction materials
Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas
Assist with site setup and breakdown
Support project teams with daily construction needs
Follow instructions from site supervisors and project management
Identify and report safety hazards or jobsite concerns
Follow OSHA, company, and project-specific safety requirements
Wear required PPE and maintain a safe work environment
Perform other construction duties as assigned
Requirements
Minimum 5 years of construction experience
Previous commercial construction experience preferred
General knowledge of construction practices, materials, tools, and jobsite safety
Ability to safely operate basic hand and power tools
Strong work ethic and dependable attendance
Ability to follow directions and work effectively with a team
Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
Reliable transportation
Ability to read and write effectively
Ability to lift and carry 50–100 pounds
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Ability to bend, kneel, reach, climb, and work in various positions
Ability to safely work on ladders, scaffolds, and elevated surfaces
Comfortable working on uneven surfaces and at heights
Adequate vision and hearing, with or without correction
Ability to work safely around construction equipment, materials, and multiple trades
Physical Requirements
This is a physically demanding position. Candidates must be able to frequently lift, carry, push, pull, stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and climb. The ability to handle materials weighing 50–100 pounds for significant portions of the workday is required.
