Our law firm is seeking a billing specialist to work in our accounting department and assist our billing attorneys with revising, processing, and issuing accurate monthly billing. You’ll be required to perform consistent follow up in this role, so experience with accounts receivable is highly preferred. Responsibilities: Apply incoming payments to the correct accounts and keep accurate financial records Work with the client’s accounting department to resolve any billing inquiries Revise invoices in accordance with attorney requests and prepare final bills for mailing Distribute initial invoices for attorney review every month Review reports indicating past due accounts and follow up on when to expect payment Qualifications: Excellent written and verbal communication skills and organizational skills are needed in this role Computer proficiency with MS Office, Excel, and billing software programs is essential Two years of experience working as in a billing specialist position at a law firm Able to produce a high quality work product while handling multiple projects • Experience with Coyote or equivalent time-billing accounting software experience.• Strong technology skills and particularly strong skills related to third party electronic billing software preferred (TyMetrix, Serengeti, Legal-X, Collaborati, etc.).• Ability to research and resolve errors or discrepancies, effectively and efficiently.• Ability to anticipate work needs and follow through with minimal direction, follow up on own initiative.• Must have exemplary customer service mindset and interaction and proactive communication skills. Compensation: $25 - $28 hourly
