    About the role

    The Lagoon Maintenance Technician keeps The Landings' lagoon system healthy and thriving — monitoring water quality, managing aquatic vegetation, and applying chemical, mechanical, and biological treatments. You'll diagnose complex issues, support storm-readiness planning, and mentor fellow technicians across a beautiful waterfront community.

    What you'll do

    • Conduct inspections and evaluations of lagoons for water quality, structural integrity, and storm readiness
    • Diagnose issues related to aquatic vegetation, pest infestations, and aeration or valve systems; implement corrective measures
    • Operate boats, spray rigs, and light equipment for vegetation management and chemical treatments
    • Mix and apply chemicals strictly per manufacturer instructions and safety protocols
    • Perform vegetation cutbacks using chainsaws, trimmers, pole saws, hedgers, chippers, and herbicide spray equipment
    • Schedule and run daily work routes to hit efficiency and maintenance cycle goals
    • Assist the Environmental Manager with chemical procurement, scheduling, and strategic planning
    • Maintain tools and equipment in good working order
    • Respond to operational emergencies including natural disasters and severe weather events

    Requirements

    • Georgia Pesticide License
    • Active license required at time of hire
    • 3+ years experience
    • Pesticide application and/or lagoon maintenance
    • Valid driver's license
    • Must be insurable under TLA's vehicle policy
    • Physical requirements
    • Outdoor work; lifting up to 100 lbs; exposure to chemicals, water, and wildlife
