    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    The 19th Judicial Circuit Court is looking for a part-time therapist with a background in therapy and crisis intervention. The position is in the secure detention unit of the Hulse Juvenile Detention Center.

     

    POSITION:         Part-Time Therapist

    LOCATION:       Vernon Hills, Illinois, United States

    SALARY:           $25.07 per hour

     

    JOB SUMMARY: The incumbent will work with other team members in addressing the emotional issues of the juveniles as they adjust to the secure educational setting. Job duties include individual and crisis intervention, family therapy and group therapy sessions, responding to therapeutic requests of the Court and providing reports to the Court on the detention residents’ mental health functioning.  Some of the presenting problems could include post-traumatic stress, conduct and other disruptive behavioral disorders, mood disorders, substance abuse, domestic violence, and familial conflict.

     

    In order to be successful in this role you should have a Master’s degree in Psychology, Clinical Counseling, or Social Work. Licensure is required within a year of hire. Experience in individual therapy, group therapy, and family-focused treatment is required.  The candidate must possess strong communication skills, exceptional writing skills, and the ability to function as a team member. Preference is given for candidates who are fluent in Spanish. The position will be on a part-time basis; onsite up to 20 hours per week, with a half-day on Saturday required and some after-school hours for individual and potentially group therapy sessions. The position will not exceed 1040 hours a year.
