RLI's Professional Services Group (PSG) is looking for underwriting interns in our Bala Cynwyd, PA office. RLI's Professional Services Group offers comprehensive services to meet the commercial insurance needs of Design Professionals (Architects & Engineers), Target Professionals (Miscellaneous Professional Liability) and Technology Professionals.
This internship is targeted to start in June 2020 and continue throughout summer months and potentially into the fall school semester. The hours will be part-time (20 hours per week) through August 2019 and part-time (10 hours per week) during the fall school semester.
Main Duties Include:
- Assist PSG Underwriting staff with pre-qualifying activities to include new and renewal business application uploads; updating various databases and special projects as assigned
- Research potential business partners
- Examine accounts for eligibility and pre-screening classifications
- Assist in automatic-quotes for eligible renewal accounts
- Review accounts and assign desirability factors based on underwriting criteria
- Work with claims in order to classify what type of loss occurred on specific classes of business
- Analyze specific product line accounts monthly to determine % of attendance at RLI offered educational webinars
Required Skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office to include Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Required Experience
- Sophomore, Junior or Senior student of any major, although a preference towards Insurance & Risk Management, Accounting/Finance and Marketing majors
- Currently enrolled full time at College/University
- Minimum 3.0/4.0 preferred.
