    The Role:
    Sets up and operates machines and machining centers to fabricate parts; fits and assembles machined parts into complete units, shop mathematics, machinability of materials, and layout techniques.

    Responsibilities:

    • Verifies conformance of processes or work piece to specifications.
    • Measures, marks, and scribe's dimensions and reference points on material or work piece.
    • Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines, such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and shapers.
    • Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.
    • Verifies conformance of finished work piece to specifications, using precision measurements, including micrometers, height gauges, and gauge blocks.
    • Fits and assembles parts into complete assembly, using jigs, fixtures, surface plate, surface table, hand tools, and power tools.
    • Performs routine preventative maintenance on machines as scheduled and required for TPM.
    • Works individually and as a team.
    • Conducts tests and inspections of products, examines products or work to verify conformance to specifications.

    Required Skills

    Required Experience

    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, proportions and decimals. Ability and understanding of various measuring devices.
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, work orders, work instructions, diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Good verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
    • Work requires continual attention to detail in follow through, establishing priorities, and meeting deadlines.
    • Must have previous CNC Machining experience or CNC Certification
  • Qualifications

     

    • Ability to meet processing deadlines while handling multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal errors.
    • Good interpersonal and communication skills and be sensitive, adaptable, professional, and articulate when dealing with associates and outside customers.
    • Work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments.
    • Must be proficient with computers and able to readily adapt to a variety of new and rapidly evolving software systems and applications.
    • Ability to prioritize duties in a fast-paced environment.
    • Ability to follow procedures as outlined by management.
    • Ability to communicate findings and recommendations to management on accounting matters.
