    THE OPPORTUNITY

    The PWR Mechanical Analysis Team Supervisor position is within the Mechanical Design & PWR Product Engineering organization in the Fuel Business Unit which is responsible for a broad range of activities including fuel rod and control component design, materials development, manufacturing support, and fuel performance code development. The engineering activities are coordinated with other Framatome fuel engineering departments both locally and worldwide. This opportunity is located in Lynchburg, Virginia.

     

     

    WHAT YOU’LL DO AT FRAMATOME

    You will be responsible for leading a team of talented engineers to help fulfill the mission of ensuring safe, reliable, and cost-effective PWR fuel.  Your team will focus on performing various mechanical/structural evaluations to support fuel licensing and performance and will also contribute to the development of new innovative fuel designs and analytical methods.  Typical assignments include:

    • Plan, schedule, organize, and direct the work of the individuals in the group.
    • Making work assignments for group members.
    • Supervise workflow to ensure deliverables are safe, high quality, on time, and within budget.
    • Ensure working level compliance with procedures, standards, and design control process.
    • Ensure application of the Product, Materials, Codes & Methods strategies in their group.
    • Providing technical oversight of group work products, facilitating resolution of technical issues.
    • Reporting progress, identifying impediments and issues up to management.
    • Mediating and driving to resolution of personnel conflicts.
    • Participates in the creation of goals and objectives for the team.
    • Monitors goals, objectives, and standards of performance for assigned team members.
    • Performing personnel reviews.
    • Facilitating professional growth of group members.
    • Interviewing potential new hires, making recommendations relative to hiring.
    • Oversee the onboarding of new team members.
    • Works on special projects, as directed.
    • Facilitating the interface between groups within the company to complete customer projects.
    • Support Fuels proposal efforts, including coordination of multi-disciplinary work scopes.

    WHAT YOU’VE ACCOMPLISHED

    You have completed a BS in Mechanical, or a related field.  You have worked in an engineering role for a minimum of 5 years and demonstrated both a technical prowess and an ability to lead. 

     

     

    OUR TOTAL REWARDS PACKAGE

    The range of base salary for the position is between $91,000 - $124,000, and may also include annual incentives, performance bonuses and benefits. Please note that the base salary range is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.

  • Qualifications
    • Journeyman Ironworkers must have welding exp. with Stick and wire and the ability to weld 3G & 4G.
    • Bolt-up structural member following blueprints and instructions from supervisors.
    • Rig structural-steel members to hoist cables, using chains, or cables.
    • Hoist steel beams, girders, and columns into place, using cranes, or signal hoisting equipment operators to lift and position structural-steel members.
    • Detail Work: may include installing angle and bent plate, welding clips, joists, tube steel or angle kickers; installing safety cable and safety posts; or shaking out and spreading joists and long spans.
    • Assembling: Plumbing of structural steel; installing deck; installing and welding steel stairs, handrail and guardrail.
    • Field fabrication or assembly of metal parts such as steel frames, columns, beams, and girders, according to blueprints or instructions from supervisors.
    • Insert sealing strips, wiring, insulating material, ladders, flanges, gauges, and valves, depending on types of structures being assembled
