JOB TITLE: PRESCHOOL TEACHER—3 OR 4 YEAR OLDS
CLASSIFICATION: PART TIME, HOURLY--12-15 HOURS PER WEEK PLUS OCCASIONAL EVENTS
REPORTS TO: PRESCHOOL DIRECTOR
JOB SUMMARY:
THROUGH ACTIVITIES DESIGNED TO PROMOTE SOCIAL, EMOTIONAL, PHYSICAL, SPIRITUAL AND INTELLECTUAL GROWTH, LAKE TAPPS CHRISTIAN CHURCH’S PRESCHOOL PROVIDES A CHRISTIAN EDUCATION PROGRAM FOR CHILDREN THREE THROUGH SIX YEARS OF AGE THAT WILL BENEFIT THE CHILD, THE FAMILY, THE CHURCH AND COMMUNITY. THE PRESCHOOL 3'S TEACHER WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR TEACHING CHILDREN IN OUR PROGRAM, USING A CURRICULUM THAT THE CHILDREN WILL RESPOND TO POSITIVELY AND PARTNERING WITH OUR TEAM TO ENHANCE THE LEARNING ENVIRONMENT AT OUR SCHOOL.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Create fun and interactive learning experiences for the children.
Serve as a role model for Christian values through daily interactions with children, their families and the LTCP team.
Develop and maintain a friendly, constructive and ongoing rapport with children and parents.
Collaborate with other teachers to ensure that the school fosters an environment that is inviting and nurturing for every child.
Manage day-to-day classroom activities, including structured lessons, free play and bathroom breaks.
Prepare children for Pre-K by introducing concepts including sitting still, listening, interacting with peers, writing, cutting, etc.
Maintain a safe and healthy classroom, promoting good hygiene and self-discipline.
Demonstrate positive and effective classroom management skills including appropriate behavior modification techniques.
Demonstrate patience and an ability to effectively manage up to 10 children with grace.

A born-again believer who exhibits a love for God and a Christ-like spirit, evident in personal life, family relationships and ministry.
Exhibit a love and passion for children and their families.
Ability to work well in team situations.
Must possess solid time management skills and strong organizational abilities including the ability to coordinate several activities at once and to quickly analyze and resolve specific problems.
Ability to communicate and establish effective working relationships with all people, conveying a genuine concern for their needs and a desire to provide exceptional service.
The ideal candidate will be teachable, creative, detail-oriented, flexible, and decisive with the ability to organize and coordinate work, set priorities, and motivate others.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience working with children and families in an early childhood education setting.
Church attending follower of Jesus comfortable teaching Christian/Bible curriculum.
Pass a criminal background check & National Sex Offender screening.
Have/Obtain a Child CPR/First Aid Certificate.
Preference will be given to candidates with a degree or certification in ECE or Education, or CDA, or those who are currently working on acquiring a CDA or AA in ECE.
