OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR

THE COMPANY

LRS has grown from $50 million in sales and 220 employees in 2013 to over $225 million in sales and approx. 900 employees today. LRS has experienced phenomenal growth, with fourteen acquisitions throughout northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin in the last 60 months. With 15 facilities located throughout Illinois and Wisconsin, LRS controls and processes over 2.5 million tons of waste material per year and recycles or diverts over 50% of that volume.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Operations Supervisor oversees all operations activities within the assigned geographical area. The Operations supervisor is foremost responsible for Driver Safety and Operational efficiency. He/she observe and analyze the overall efficiency of the department and ensure things are moving smoothly. They also report their findings to upper management, as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Operations Management:

• Responsible for Driver Safety, incl. safety training, safety planning, incident reporting etc.
• Accountable for scheduling shifts, planning for call-ins/no shows, reporting department metrics and performance
• Responsible for route optimization and route coverage at all times. Proactively evaluates and perform route visits and assessments.
• Evaluates customer support and problem solving to find solutions to customer issues
• Responds positively to unpredictable situations or problems that can occur throughout their work responsibilities

People Management:

• Responsible for leading and supervising drivers within the assigned geographical area, evaluating performance and delivering feedback
• Responds positively to unpredictable situations or problems that can occur throughout their work responsibilities
• Will set a motivational tone and establish a high degree of optimism focused on employees in the work environment

QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/CRITICAL SKILLS

• 3-5 years’ experience as Operations Supervisor, preferably from the Waste Management or Trucking/Transportation Industry
• Ability to multi-task
• Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills
• Must be a self-starter
• Strong level of accountability
• Essential to be detailed oriented
• Upbeat and energized to complete tasks with a positive attitude
• Must work well under pressure
• Essential to learn and practice all safety procedures as safety is our highest value.
• Excellent Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point & Outlook Software Skills

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear
• Occasionally required to stand and walk
• Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
• Some travel required, locally/domestically
