    The Position

    Lance CPA Group is a virtual, boutique certified public accounting firm. We leverage today's best technologies to support innovative clients with their financials. Specifically, we tap the power of cloud-based solutions to deliver outsourced accounting services, tax planning and preparation, and small business coaching and advisory. Headquartered in Chicago, we cater to a niche target audience: craft breweries and digital agencies located right here, but also beyond our vibrant city. In addition to working with these innovative niche clients with customized solutions, we provide CPA and tax services for small businesses, entrepreneurs, solopreneurs and individuals who have a passion for developing their businesses in progressive, future-focused ways. We are looking for a part-time Human Resources Administrator to join our team!

    The Payroll Specialist will work directly with the Leadership team to provide heavy payroll support with light HR services to our clients by way of People Advisory Services.  This includes full cycle payroll for multiple clients as well as intermittent HR and benefit questions. Job responsibilities include but are not limited too:

    • Provide full service payroll management to clients 
    • Perform Onboarding, offboarding, timekeeping, and payments management for multiple clients and their staff
    • Review, revise, and update clients with policy changes that must be in accordance with state and federal law
    • Prepare various HR documents, to include helpful instructions for clients onboarding and offboarding experience
    • Be the first point of contact with external partners, such as payroll providers and  insurance brokers, to ensure legal compliance
    • Perform advisory consultations to clients as outlined in the client scope
    • Understanding of interstate payroll obligations

    This is a part time position, 15-25 hours per week. This position will start immediately.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    We expect the successful candidate to have the following skills and relevant experience;

    • Associates degree in Human Resources or related field.
    • CPP or FPC certification.
    • Some experience in the hospitality industry. 
    • Experience with Gusto
    • 1-3 years of experience in interstate payroll processing.
    • Excellent knowledge of labor laws and compliance standards, that pertain to payroll and HR standards.
    • Strong organizational and administrative skills, with the ability to prioritize certain tasks and projects appropriately. 
    • Great communication skills, along with complete knowledge of how to communicate through internal systems.
    • Complete knowledge of payroll, HR processes, and recordkeeping, such as time records.
    • Ability to work as a team member, assisting other personnel with their tasks as assigned.
    • Great problem-solving and analytical skills to manage daily administrative tasks.
