The primary responsibility of the Radio Frequency (RF) Technician I is the daily analysis, coordination, and execution of maintenance activities relating to the RF Network (One-way and Two-way Network devices, Meters and Telecommunications).
Primary responsibility is the daily analysis, coordination and execution of maintenance activities relating to the One-way and Two-way RF Network Devices, Meters and Telecommunications equipment).
- Daily review of system reports for network/meter failures. Prioritize, coordinate, troubleshoot and perform RF maintenance activities as required.
- Daily coordination with Network Analysts, Meter and RF Technicians in support of meter read performance and network maintenance.
- Perform On-Call duties, when assigned, to support network maintenance during off hours. To include nights, weekends and holidays.
- Maintain daily/weekly/monthly maintenance log (Performance Metrics Update)
- Perform RF Test Bench repairs/analysis as required.
- Warehouse/Inventory upkeep as required.
- Perform Preventative Maintenance for network equipment. (semi-annual)
- Perform meter investigations (groups or individual meters)
- Perform network expansion and optimization (analyze network equipment installations, moves and removals)
- Participate in cross training with analysts, meter maintenance and warehouse technicians. To include performing basic network/meter analysis and meter maintenance.
- Represent Company in a positive, professional manner when working with both external and internal customers.
- Support and adhere to Company’s Code of Conduct and Ethics Policy.
- Perform other duties as assigned or required.
- Provide assistance to customers in implementation, operation, training and problem resolution.
- Respond to customer inquiries in a timely manner and follow through to a successful resolution. Travel to other customer sites, to assist with RF Tech duties, when appropriate.
Required Skills
- Must be able to work wearing safety equipment.
- Must be able to work on ladders and in inclement weather.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and meet weight restrictions (270 lbs) for bucket trucks.
- Excellent skills with Microsoft Office Suite
- Travel up to 50% may be required.
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
- Must be able to work wearing safety equipment.
- Must be able to work on ladders and in inclement weather.
Required Experience
- RF technical degree or two year degree from technical institution in a RF communications or related field or equivalent Military experience in RF communications
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Three to five years successful performance in a service or technical support related position in an electronics technology related field.
