Temporary Talent Acquisition and Development Coordinator (Independence.
Ohio)
Covia is seeking a temporary Talent Acquisition and Development
Coordinator to assist our Talent Acquisition and Development teams on a
six-month assignment based at our Independence, Ohio corporate
headquarters. The temporary Talent Acquisition and Development
Coordinator will be responsible for providing a positive,
well-organized, recruitment process for all of our candidates and
internal stakeholders. The coordinator will need to demonstrate poise
and competence within a fast-paced environment and maintain positive
relations. The assignment will include coordination and administration
of candidate activities including creating requisitions, interview
scheduling, handling billing, and career fair coordination among other
deliverables. Additional duties will include Applicant Tracking System
administration and troubleshooting and working with our travel
department to assist with candidate travel.
CORE TALENT ACQUISITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Obtain availability, create and post interview schedules and confirm
all candidates. Ensure candidates, hiring managers, recruiters and
HR Business Partners are aligned and that the process is following a
timely and efficient path. Engage all parties with positivity and
competence while ensuring strong relationships are maintained.
- Greet candidates when appropriate, manage interview schedules and
make appropriate scheduling changes as needed. Ensure accurate
agendas are provided to all parties and provide proper updates as
needed. Work with travel to arrange schedules and ensure candidates
and hiring managers / teams are aligned on timing and venue.
- Maintain and update the Applicant Tracking System with requisitions,
applicant information and interview schedule data as appropriate.
Ensure the requisition process follows a logical and efficient path
and that all data within the requisition is accurate and void
of errors.
- Provide an exceptional candidate experience to all applicants
ensuring a positive impression of Covia
- Provide a high level of customer service to internal clients
including hiring manager, recruitment team, HR Business Partners,
executive team and all other internal stakeholders interfaced with
in the talent acquisition process.
- Maintain an appropriate level of communication with all parties
(internal and external) throughout the process from candidate
discovery (sourcing) to onboarding and beyond
- Assist in the planning and coordination of career fairs – liaise
with event contacts, develop strong relationships with career
services and appropriate academic departments, ensure all collateral
is sent to events and attendees are prepared, may also require
fair attendance.
- Ensure career fair metrics are gathered and assist with reporting /
student follow-up.
- Assist with onboarding when needed.
CORE TALENT DEVELOPMENT RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinates all logistics for all Covia core training programs (Covia
Leader, People Manager, Supervisor and EXCELeration Programs) including,
hotel, travel, training facility reservations, group events, meals, and
participant materials (approximately 15 sessions annually):
Responsible for target audience analysis, participant enrollment and
all pre-and post-training participant communications.
Serve as the primary point of contact for key vendor relationships.
Book and schedule facilitators and executive sponsors for all Covia
core training programs. Act as primary point of contact for these
individuals, providing communications, information and support
as required.
Periodic facilitation of workshop openings and training modules,
as needed.
Partner with Director – Talent Development & Learning, Learning &
Development Manager and vendor contacts to periodically review and
update training material content and delivery format.
Coordination of core training program virtual follow-up sessions.
Produce training materials (slide decks, participant and facilitator
guidebooks, etc.) as needed.
ADDITIONAL TALENT DEVELOPMENT DUTIES:
- Act as primary contact for Covia Learning & Development email box.
Responsible for responding and/or distributing messages as needed.
- Responsible for all Covia Learning Management System (LMS)
requirements, including standardized and custom report creation,
learning path creation, course creation, content additions, etc.
- Management and reporting of Covia Learning & Development metrics.
- Primary contact for and tracking of Covia New Hire Orientation and
On-Boarding Programs.
- Primary contact for Covia Internship and Management
Training Programs.
- Promotion and marketing of all Covia Learning & Development
training resources.
- Partner with Covia Accounts Payable to ensure timely processing of
all Learning & Development invoices.
- Documentation of Learning & Development Coordinator best practices
and work processes.

EDUCATION
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in business management, communications, education,
human resources, or related field.
KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE / TECHNICAL SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Required:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Human Resources or Customer Service
administrative / coordination role.
- Track record of success in planning / coordinating tasks / projects.
- Strong commitment to excellence and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated flexibility in adapting to a wide variety of tasks
and functions.
- Ability to travel at the company’s expense (less than 10%
travel required).
- Advanced computer skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe
PDF software.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills, with the ability

- Detail oriented with good follow-up practices and customer focus.
- Capable of multi-tasking, highly organized and able to meet
deadlines consistently.
