    POSITION PROFILE

    This position is responsible for final finishing of wood furniture using stains, lacquers and other finishing products.

     KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Formulation of colors using Akzo Noble colorants and coatings
    • Creation of new finishing techniques that are “production friendly”
    • Must be able to do cerused, painted and weathered finishes to match samples
    • Produce samples to match designer’s samples with short lead times
    • Research new finishing techniques
    • Must be a self starter and willing to work additional hours as required
    • Confirm that the correct finish is applied checking the paperwork for color and sheen and confirming that it matches the sample.
    • Maintain spray equipment and work with the finishing group to maintain the Finishing department in accordance to our safety standards.  Handle all hazardous materials in accordance with state and federal guidelines.  This includes proper tracking of materials used.

     

    Required Skills

    • Minimum 1 year of furniture finishing experience

    Required Experience

    • High school diploma or equivalent is required
