    Based in our North Sydney office, we are currently seeking a Senior HR Advisor to join our growing East Coast team. As the Senior HR Advisor, you will be integral to the continual improvement and overall success of Human Resources, Learning and Recruitment practices across the business, focusing on the New South Wales Business Unit.

    Reporting to the Human Resources Manager – Eastern Region you will work closely with NSW Operations team and be responsible for managing the day-to-day HR operations of the state.

    YOUR KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES WILL BE:

    • Provide HR advice, training and coaching in all facets of Operational HR, Learning and Recruitment
    • Drive and Implement Group HR initiatives and strategies to support the delivery of the business plan
    • Support project leaders in improving business performance through people
    • Provide people performance management training and coaching for managers
    • Management and provision of the end to end recruitment function
    • Implementing Learning & Development solutions, while maintaining core training requirements
    • Undertaking workplace investigations as required
    • Support the management of industrial and workplace relations including interpretation and application of Georgiou’s Enterprise Bargaining Agreements
    • Management of one direct report

    THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS:

    • Tertiary qualification in HR and demonstrated previous experience in a Senior generalist HR role
    • Demonstrated resilience, ability to manage multiple stakeholders at all levels and competing priorities
    • Ability to work autonomously, demonstrate high intrinsic motivation, self-direction and initiative
    • High level communication, interpersonal and coaching skills
    • Negotiation and problem-solving skills
    • Strong knowledge and experience in contemporary HR practices and procedures
    • Working knowledge of the Building Code 2016 and relevant legislation
    • Experience in managing employee grievances and workplace investigations
    • Experience in using HR, Recruitment and Learning systems
    • Solid ability in all aspects of HR practices including recruitment, remuneration, performance management, case management and employment legislation
    • Well-developed communication skills that encompasses advice to employees on HR policies and procedures

    COMPUTER SKILLS

    • Basic Computer Literacy as evidenced by the ability to go online and conduct basic searches on the Internet, check his/her email account, create and send e-mail with an attachment and use simple email features.   Can open spreadsheets and word processing documents to read and make simple edits.

    OTHER SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE

    • The ability to read and understand basic blueprints and/or drawings.
    • The ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
    • The ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
    • The ability to coordinate inspections on numerous jobs simultaneously.
    • Displays a commitment to the future success of the individuals we serve, program areas, staff and the agency.
    • The ability to work with adults with developmental disabilities.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Standing 50% of the time. Walking 30% of the time. Sitting 20% of the time.
    • Normal office environment with the need to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and 10 pounds of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
    • Visual acuity necessary to perform activities such as: reviewing forms, preparing documentation and entering data and figures; viewing a computer terminal; regular reading.
