    Radiance Technologies, a rapidly growing employee-owned company supporting US Army Space and Missile Defense Command (USASMDC), is seeking a skilled Laser / Optical Engineer to support high energy lasing and lethality testing conducted at Solid-state Laser Testbed (SSLT) located at the Limor / HELSTF Site.  This individual will design, integrate, test, and analyze a variety of low- & high-power optical systems.  This candidate will work as an individual contributor and within a diverse, multi-discipline engineering team supporting and leading multiple, simultaneous efforts.

     

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Security clearance
    • Demonstrated ability to design, integrate, and test optical systems for high energy lasers.
    • Demonstrated ability to design, integrate, and test electrical circuits related to the operation and control of optical systems.
    • Demonstrated ability to assist customers with sensor recommendation.
    • Demonstrated ability to prepare and execute high energy laser lethality experiments.
    • Demonstrated ability to perform in demanding, rapidly changing test environment.
    • Physics and modeling experience with laser / material interaction.
    • Experience performing thermal modeling & analysis.

     

    Required Skills

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Optical Engineering, Optical Science, Laser Engineering, Electro-Optics, Photonics, or a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Hard Science with an Optics focus.
    • US citizenship with the ability to obtain a DoD security clearance.
    • Demonstrated proficiency in optics design & setup, instrumentation design & setup, data capture & analysis.
    • Demonstrated proficiency using tools such as Zemax, MATLAB, LabVIEW, Image / Data Acquisition software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Demonstrated proficiency using a variety of optical metrology equipment.
    • Ability to travel ~10% time
