About Outdoor Escapes & Design (OED)
At OED, we don’t just move dirt—we build award-winning, luxury outdoor living environments. As a premier leader in custom residential and commercial landscaping, we pride ourselves on precision, elite craftsmanship, and an uncompromised commitment to safety. We are looking for an experienced operator who treats heavy machinery like an extension of themselves and takes pride in flawless finish grading.
The Role
This position focuses on the precision operation of earth-moving equipment for high-end landscape construction. While we are seeking an elite operator first, a strong preference will be given to candidates who hold a Class A CDL and have verifiable heavy hauling experience.
Key Responsibilities
Master the Machinery: Expertly operate mini-excavators, skid steers, track loaders, and dozers in tight residential and expansive commercial footprints.
Artistic Precision: Execute rough and finish grading, excavation, trenching, and backfilling perfectly to match complex design specifications.
Equipment Care: Perform daily pre-trip inspections and routine fluid/grease maintenance to keep our fleet in peak operating condition.
Efficiency & Safety: Maintain zero-incident safety standards while meeting project production schedules.
Heavy Hauling: Safely load, chain down, secure, and transport heavy machinery using lowboys and equipment trailers.
Material Delivery: Transport and dump bulk aggregates, soils, and materials using Class A dump trucks.
Logistics Support: Coordinate with project managers on equipment staging and material movement across the Salt Lake Valley.
Minimum Qualifications (Required):
4+ Years of Verifiable Experience: Specifically operating skid steers and excavators in landscape or civil construction environments.
Finishing Expertise: Proven ability to hit exact finish grades and work carefully around existing structures, utilities, and high-end hardscapes.
Dependability: Ability to handle early morning starts, physically demanding outdoor work, and occasional overtime to hit project deadlines.
Safety First Mindset: Complete understanding of job site safety, trenching hazards, and equipment limitations.
