Role

The Crew Leader is responsible for managing a small landscaping team and ensuring each project meets Varsity Mulching’s standards of quality, efficiency, and professionalism.

This is a seasonal leadership position running from mid-March through November 2026, with opportunities to return each year and advance within the company. Crew Leaders manage daily operations on-site, coordinate logistics, communicate with clients, and ensure that every job is completed safely, efficiently, and to our premium standards.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise a small team on-site, ensuring projects are completed efficiently and to Varsity standards.

Manage daily transportation of materials and equipment using company trucks and trailers.

Serve as the main point of contact for clients during projects—answering questions and ensuring satisfaction.

Maintain job quality, safety, and pace while fostering teamwork and positive morale.

Communicate regularly with management on project status, crew performance, and client feedback.

Requirements

Minimum 2 years of landscaping experience

Strong leadership potential and ability to manage a small team

High character—honest, dependable, and committed to doing the right thing

Valid driver’s license and ability to safely drive and back up a trailer

Foreman or prior team leadership experience preferred
