Position Summary: The Landscaping Supervisor plays a key role in ensuring the efficiency, quality, and professionalism of the company’s maintenance and irrigation services. This individual will directly oversee and support Crew Leaders, coordinate daily operations, actively participate in team development, and optimize existing processes. The ideal candidate is technically skilled, proactive, and committed to continuous improvement and high-performance standards.
Primary Responsibilities:
Operations & Logistics
Supervise daily start-up and close-out procedures: equipment, trucks, and materials.
Ensure completion of equipment checklists before and after each job.
Oversee compliance with established field protocols and company standards.
Maintain order, cleanliness, and preventive maintenance of trucks, tools, and workspaces.
Ensure the safe and efficient use of specialized equipment, including irrigation systems.
Validate correct procedures for planting, transplanting, and plant care.
Identify and lead improvements in operational efficiency on-site.
Administrative Duties
Lead weekly focus meetings with Crew Leaders to align goals and review progress.
Review and approve daily reports, service orders, and time tracking.
Document and report any incidents or accidents involving trucks, tools, or personnel.
Participate in the design and implementation of new internal protocols to support staff development and ensure quality control.
Manage and monitor compliance with OSHA safety training and best practices.
Maintain direct communication with management regarding updates, challenges, and improvements.
Recruitment & Team Development
Actively participate in the recruitment and selection of field personnel.
Conduct performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to Crew Leaders and crew members.
Design and lead technical and leadership training programs for teams.
Foster a culture of discipline, accountability, and continuous growth within the crews.
Client Services
Conduct job site inspections to ensure work meets quality standards and client expectations.
Confirm proper documentation with before-and-after photos for each job.
Serve as a technical point of contact when personalized service or issue resolution is needed.
Promote a high level of professionalism, punctuality, and client respect in every interaction.
Team Leadership
Oversee Crew Leaders' behavior, appearance, and leadership effectiveness.
Delegate tasks strategically and monitor execution and results.
Identify and report inappropriate behavior or job site incidents.
Ensure all crew members are properly uniformed and professionally presented.
Coordinate team hydration and safety logistics during field work.
Productivity & Performance Goals
Reduce operational errors by 30% within the first 90 days.
Achieve 95% on-time performance for all scheduled services.
Improve customer satisfaction, as measured through internal feedback and client reports.
Implement and maintain new protocols that support team development and service quality.
Position Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in landscaping supervision.
Technical knowledge in planting, plant care, and irrigation systems.
OSHA safety training certification or willingness to obtain it.
Ability to work both in the field and in the office as needed.
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Experience in creating and implementing quality and operational protocols.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Highly organized, results-driven, and proactive mindset.
