Nursing Instructor/Assistant Professor
Job Description
NATURE OF JOB: Provide classroom and clinical instruction for students enrolled in a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program
TEACHING AREA: Childrearing (Peds), Childbearing (OB), Adult Health, Psychosocial Nursing
Salary commensurate with didactic and clinical experience.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach assigned course(s), which includes clinical (clinical times may vary and can include weekends); participate in curriculum development, implementation and evaluation; serve on school and university committees; serve as professional role model for colleagues, students, and community partners; student advisement; team building skills; functions under the knowledge of one nursing program; excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to perform the essential competencies of an RN; support mission and purposes of Langston University; other duties as assigned by site director and/or Dean.
QUALIFICATIONS: REQUIRED: Master’s degree in nursing; licensed or eligible for licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Oklahoma (must obtain licensure before hire); two recent years of clinical experience as an RN; previous teaching experience. PREFERRED: Doctorate
