    Job Description

    OPERATIONS MANAGER  LANTER DELIVERY SYSTEMS (LDS) IS CURRENTLY SEEKING AN OPERATIONS MANAGER TO HELP MANAGE OPERATIONS AT OUR MINOOKA, IL FACILITY.  THIS KEY INDIVIDUAL WILL WORK CLOSELY WITH DOCK EMPLOYEES AND CUSTOMERS TO ENSURE ON-TIME, ERROR-FREE DELIVERIES.   

    Lanter Delivery Systems (LDS) is a multi-regional logistics company and a leader in overnight, unattended delivery of auto and agricultural parts from Customer’s distribution centers to dealer locations.  Our customers include most major U.S. automakers and agricultural equipment manufacturers including; GM, Ford, Chrysler, John Deere, Cummins, Case New Holland and many more. Lanter guarantees shipments that are placed in the late afternoon will be delivered next morning by 8:00AM. Come be a part of a growing team!

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE OPERATIONS MANAGER:

    • Be the customer satisfaction superhero by managing dock operations to excellence in on-time, error free deliveries
    • Serve as the receiving and distribution operations guru by initiating, coordinating, and implementing programs for both operations and personnel 
    • Create reports for customers, transportation companies, and district manager
    • Safeguard cross dock operations and contents by establishing and overseeing safety and security procedures
    • Partner with transportation companies to achieve on-time, accurate deliveries
    • Recruit, select, train, and schedule cross dock staff
    • Be a coach, mentor, and supervisor for the dock team
    • Lead and participates in process improvement initiatives

    JOB REQUIREMENTS OF THE OPERATIONS MANAGER: 

    • Multiple years of proven success in transportation/supply chain/warehouse management
    • Expert problem solver servicing both customers and transportation companies
    • Ability to pivot and prioritize based on need
    • Solid computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), Outlook, Red Prairie
    • Experience working in a cross-dock environment strongly preferred 
    • High School Diploma or equivalent required
    • Degree in business, supply chain, or transportation preferred.
